Kindergarten Hours
From 2012 children attending Morphett Vale Kindergarten will be able to access 15 hours of kindergarten per week. Children will access their 15 hours by either attending 2 full days and a half day or 1 full day and 3 half days.
This attendance pattern provides children with the time and opportunity to develop friendships and pursue their interests and ideas with a familiar group of people.
A more flexible arrangement can be negotiated to enable children of working or studying families to access their entitlement to a kindergarten program. Families are welcome to arrange with staff any combination of morning and afternoon sessions.
Pre-entry Kindergarten:
Due to the introduction of our extra hours of preschool Pre-entry kindergarten will be offered from 2012 where capacity permits.
As of 2013 when there is a single intake at Preschools there will be no Pre-entry.
As an introduction to kindergarten your child may attend one pre-entry session per week during the term prior to the start of their sessional kindergarten year. Our pre-entry sessions are integrated into preschool sessions Monday to Thursday for 7 weeks at a cost of $30.00.
A pre-entry afternoon tea is held for all new families to negotiate which day your child might like to access.

Early Entry:
Your child may be eligible for early entry to kindergarten if he or she has a special need such as an identified disability, developmental delay, giftedness or social/emotional difficulties. Parents are welcome to discuss with the Director the possibility for early entry to kindergarten.
Aboriginal children and children who are under the Guardianship of the Minister for Families and Communities may start full time kindergarten at 3 years of age.
